Predeceased by parents Apostolos and Aggeliki Diamantakou; children, Koula and Eleni (in infancy); siblings: Stauvroula, Nicholaos, and Louis; uncle John (Flossi) Diamond; parents-in-law Ioannis and Eleni Nikolaou; sister-in-law Barbara Papadakos; brothers-in-law George Papadakos and George Kotsetas; and nephews Nikolaos Georgoulis and Konstantinos Tzoumas. He is survived by his loving wife Toula; daughter Maria (Petros) Aiginitis; grandson Raphael Georgios Aiginitis; brother-in-law Ioannis Karagiannis; sisters-in-law, Loula Diamantakou, Georgia (John) Selimos, Dina (Tom) Tzoumas, Areti Kotsetas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and Godchildren. George was born on April 9, 1934 in Amaliada, Ilias, Greece. At 12 years of age, he moved to Athens with his family where he proudly became involved in his uncle Demitrios Kikizas’ family brewery. Open to new experiences and full of dreams, George moved to Canada in 1951 where he made Regina, Saskatchewan his new home. Shortly after his arrival, he became a young entrepreneur opening up his first restaurant The Bright Spot on 11th Avenue alongside business partner and first cousin Dimitrios Kokonas. In the years that followed, George also owned and operated The Flamingo Cafe on Albert Street. He furthered his entrepreneurial endeavors in 1977 becoming partner, owner, and operator of the Four Seasons Restaurant for 21 years. Outside of the restaurant industry, George was an active member of Saint Paul’s Greek Orthodox Community. He served as Parish Council President from 1975-1978. During this time, George oversaw the planning and construction of Saint Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church (1976) as it stands today. He modeled and represented an exceptional work ethic, and he inspired others to do the same. George always enjoyed a good laugh and a hearty meal with family and friends. Most importantly, he was a dedicated and loyal family man. George experienced a full life together with his devoted and beloved wife, Toula of 50 years. He especially loved his daughter Maria, his son-in-law Petro, and his one and only grandson Raphael Georgios. George opened up his heart and home to his numerous nieces and nephews, and he always looked forward to spending time with them. His retirement in 1998 gave him the opportunity to enjoy many of his other interests and hobbies some of which included: hunting, fishing, boating, waterskiing, traveling, and tending to his home and garden. George was the ultimate handyman; an outdoorsman and an avid sportsman, winning numerous trophies and proudly sporting his Fish and Game Lifetime Member pin on his lapel. He loved and appreciated the beauty of Canada and the Saskatchewan outdoors, and he also looked forward to spending his summers in Greece with his family. During his summers in Greece, George enjoyed visiting with all the people dear to his heart, swimming and snorkeling in the ocean, going for walks along the beach, and picking fresh fruit from his orchards. George will always be lovingly remembered and forever missed. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the RQHR Home Care, Mrs. Lilly DeGulle (George’s private caregiver), Mr. Gus Giannoutsos (George’s massage therapist), Dr. Kriek, and Rev.
