Obituary of Helen Ann Watt

Helen Ann Watt (nee Gushel) late of Regina passed away peacefully on March 31, 2016 with family by her side at the age of 83 years. Helen was born on June 17, 1932 and is survived by her sister Sandra Nicholson (Merv); six children, Gail (Glenn), Gerald (Lynn), Sandra, Darlene and Jason (Tammy), Shawanna; thirteen grandchildren, Lisa, Daniel (Nola) Petrea, Kiera, Tera (Darrell) Jacob, Nola, Crystal (Derek), Matt, Brandon, Breanna, Christopher and Salina; twelve great grandchildren: Jacob, Keerigin, Jack, Jude, Kendra, Courtney, Connor, Lucas, Sophia, William, Keerin and Shea. Helen was a homemaker for most of her life, she was an avid gardener who spent many hours canning the fruits of her labor. She enjoyed travelling with her husband George which included visiting family on the west coast and bringing home jars of canned salmon. Helen was a good cook providing her family with healthy meals with pride. Those who knew Helen well knew of her love of Bingo and she made many friends there who will miss seeing her at the Bingo Halls in town. She usually had a good joke to tell, her sense of humour and smile were very contagious. Helen created many beautiful exquisitely embroidered linens which were admired by the family. Helen spent the last few years of her life at Parkside Extended Care where she made many friends who will miss her. Public Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, Regina, SK, on Friday April 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens, 4280 Highway Number One East, Regina, SK, on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Please meet at the cemetery gates at 11:45 a.m.
