Obituary of Robert James Kirk

Robert James (Bud) Kirk September 8, 1936 – April 5, 2016 Much loved husband, father, Poppa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Bud is held in memory by his wife of 58 years, Lynn; his sons Rob (Paula), Scott (Brenda), and honorary son Richard Scheske; grandchildren Ryan (Sara), Alyssa (Tyler), Ella (Youri), and Eddye; great-grandson Owen; his siblings Darlene (Gerry), Bill (Linda), Karen (Murray), Wendy (Brian); brother-in-law Al (Sandy) McAllan; his nieces and nephews and their families. Bud began his work career with SaskPower before devoting over 30 years in management at Signal Industries. Bud was in his fifth decade of service as a member of Lions International where his main focus was on assisting the visually-impaired through the CNIB. Bud’s dedication to service led to many awards, including the Judge Brian Stevenson Fellowship, the Melvin Jones Fellowship, the Harry A Newman Diabetes Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Bud spent many happy and peaceful summers enjoying the family cottage at White Bear Lake, fishing and golfing with his boys, any time with family and his faithful companions, Susie and Lucy. We will celebrate Bud’s life at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined.
