Obituary of W. Leyland Johnson

W. LEYLAND JOHNSON MARCH 26, 1930 – APRIL 28, 2016 Leyland passed away peacefully on April 28, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan on March 26, 1930 to Edwin and Cecile Johnson. He grew up there, in Spruce Home and Davis. He moved to Regina in 1948 for a job at Saskatchewan Power where he was employed for 35 years, before his retirement in 1983. Leyland is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley (Nichol); his children Beverly (Don) Kennedy, Wm. Bill (Lisa) Johnson, Rhonda (Kent) Ringheim, and Christine (Randall) Kazeil; eleven cherished grandchildren; eight precious great-grandchildren; sisters Helen Atkinson, Lila Clarke, Lavelle (Lawrence) Spencer and Laverna Elford; brothers, Roy (Joan) Johnson and Vernon Johnson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday May 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Balfour officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to Broadway United Church, would be appreciated.
