Obituary of Murray 'Butch' Stewart Goodman

Murray (Butch) Goodman, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the age of 65 years. Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Angela Goodman. Butch is survived by his loving wife and best friend Delores; son Travis (Michelle); daughter Tamara Rosnau (Dan) and their children; Grayson and Cohen (Butchie’s Little Buddies); son Keelan (Adrienne) and future grandson due in September. Also survived by his loving little sis Dianne; sister Sharon; sister-in-law Ilse Sinnett and brother-in-law Helmut Schemmer. Butchie battled mesothelioma with the same determination and vigor that he devoted to all aspects of his life. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and coach and always had time and energy for everyone. Butch will be remembered on many football fields where he dedicated himself to the moulding of young lives. We will see him with every cast in his favourite walleye run and feel him every time the lawn is sheared with his beloved John Deere tractor. Right now Butch is walking down Lahaina beach, smiling, waiting for his girl D to join him. In the end, the mesothelioma stole everything from Butch but the love we all feel for him. And sometimes, love is all you need. Butch’s family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Angels at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 3A. We cannot imagine this journey without their care, comfort, love and devotion in Butch’s final days. We are forever grateful to each and every one of you. We would also like to thank Butch’s family physician, Dr. Kathy Kontsiotis for her friendship and relentless dedication to Butch’s care. At Butch’s request no funeral service will be held.
