Obituary of Adolphe Baumgartner

ADOLPHE BAUMGARTNER Al passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Dad was born on July 31, 1931 on the family farm near Kendal, SK. He moved to Regina in the early 50’s, joining the City of Regina Fire Department in 1957. Al retired from the fire department with the rank of Captain in 1991. Dad and Mom (Mary “Ellen” Steele) were married on June 15, 1957. He was predeceased by Ellen; parents Anton and Josephine; brothers Louis, Nick, Mike, John; and sister Kay. Al will be lovingly remembered by four children, Tony (Pearl) of Regina, Brent of Kobe, Japan, Sandra of Regina, and Gerald (Tobi) of Lorette, MB; four cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Julia of Regina, and Annabella and Paxton of Lorette, MB; two sisters, Betty and Margaret of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad had a love for sports. He was an exceptional curler in his younger years and enjoyed baseball and watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Dad also relished sharing memories with his grandchildren of times growing up on the farm. A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers gratefully declined.
