As a mother of a handicapped son I can empathize about your loss and your so right you are never prepared to lose a son no matter how bad things get ..I met Stephen at my sons one night he was such a nice young man and we also lost a nephew to the same disease. Kelli has helped Stephen for years and like him a lot .You were lucky parents to have one so wise in your midst .My prayers are with all of you and thanks for letting us meet him.

To the Jones and Ripplinger families;
Hi all. I apologize for not being able to attend Steven's Memorial Service. I just returned home and read the obituary that was placed for Steven. Wow!! As you all know, Steven was an amazing and incredible young man. He accomplished much more in this world in a short 31 years with a major disability than the average person would accomplish in three life times. The world lost a good man. To all, my heart felt sympathy.

My deepest condolences to Donalda, Dale, Daniel and Katherine and to all of Steven's family and friends (including the four-legged ones!). My favourite memory of Steven is a warm July day during the Buffalo Days Parade and seeing this so cute little Steven and his not nearly as cute brother Daniel (just kidding Daniel) sitting on a curb on Broadway Ave. waving at daddy Dale and his Kinsmen buddies walking and riding in the parade with Telemiracle Teddy (or was it Mr. Potato Head??). Big grins and smiling waves to all of us. Steven was a great kid who grew to an amazing man who offered so much to so many and he will be remembered for all that he did and all that he was. Best wishes.

I remember hanging out at Stevens house in elementary school. Playing video games in his basement and things like that. Always was a happy person back then and sounds like he kept his positive attitude as he got older. Never did his wheelchair slow him down nor did he complain. Sad to hear this news, but it's time to celebrate his life and legacy.

Our family has known Steven since he was in Kindergarten with our son, Marc. Hugs and prayers to the family of the fantastic soul of Steven. I was in the same grade as Daniel going through school, so I have many memories of Steven. He was such a kind and giving person, defying the odds and showing everyone how brave he was. Some of my memories of Steven include seeing him on Telemiracle many times to the ribbon cutting of nt he wheelchair ramp at the legislature building.
