Obituary of Mary Cecelia Kirkpatrick

Mary passed away peacefully on June 25, 2016 at the Coteau Range Manor, Avonlea, Sask. Born near Truax, Sask., she graduated as a Registered Nurse from Moose Jaw’s Providence Hospital in 1945, and served in Leader, Mossbank and Calgary. On Oct. 17, 1950 she married Gordon Kirkpatrick at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Truax, and they farmed the Kirkpatrick family farm until they moved to the Manor in 2012. Mary was predeceased by her parents: Joseph and Elizabeth (Schuett) Beingessner, and her brothers Ed (Doretta), Herb, Eugene and Raymond (Eveline), and her sister Flo. She lived a full and rewarding life and is survived by her husband Gordon, and their six children: Toni (Frank Korvemaker) of Regina, Faith (Garth Ward) of Cardross, Judy (Cam Petruic) of Avonlea, Fred (Gloria Kot) of Truax, Elaine (Dan Flegel) of Claybank, and Jeannette (Gary Dixon) of Weyburn; as well as 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her brothers Albert (Alma), Richard (Cecilia), John (Janice), and Don (Diane), and sister Sabine (Henry Vanderleest), and in-laws: Agnes Beingessner, Anne Beingessner, Raymond Kirkpatrick, Jim Kirkpatrick, and Louise & Remo Forer, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Mary was a devout Roman Catholic, and faithfully supported her Church. She also contributed in many ways to the Truax community, especially during times of medical emergency. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Claybank, SK on Thursday June 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date at the Truax Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Coteau Range Manor for the exceptional care they provided to Mary during her stay there. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manor.
