Obituary of Edith Madge Harby

Edith passed away in Regina on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the age of 97 years. Born in Caron, SK March 9, 1919 she was the only daughter of Emily (deceased in 1987) and Edward (Ted) Harby (deceased in 1972). She is survived by her cousin Elizabeth Smart of Edmonton, AB and several cousins in England. Edith is also fondly remembered by her extended family in Regina, Lois and the late Merv Huckerby and their family; Jim, Erin (Tracey), Jan (Garn) and their families. Edith had a small circle of valued friends. She often expressed gratitude for their kindness and visits. Edith moved with her parents to Regina when she was in her teens. She attended Scott Collegiate and the Reliance School of Commerce after which she was employed at the Regina Airport and the Medical Arts Clinic. Health issues prompted an early retirement. Edith’s last years were spent at Regina Pioneer Village and her last months at the William Booth Special Care Home. Special thanks to the staff who loved and cared for her. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment with her parents in Riverside Memorial Park.
