Obituary of Del Canning

Del passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2016 with family by his side. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Eileen and Del; infant sister Deloraine; and his youngest son Sheldon. Del is survived by his brother Bill; sister Joanne; his loving wife Wanda (Gawga); and his children, Jeff (Karen), Jill, Jamie, and Sheldon’s partner Rhonda. He is also survived by eleven amazing grandchildren, Jordan, Cody, Madison, Kolton, Jesse, Billee, Luke, Jade, Jake, Farrah, and Jett; along with many other relatives and friends. Del spent 35 years in the classroom and never had a day that he wasn’t anxious to head to school. He was a proud, dedicated, and honest man who believed in setting goals and working hard to achieve them. One of these goals kept him busy during this last year of his life. He diligently researched and wrote a complete family history, which he was in the process of proudly sharing with many family members. History and memories were very important to Dad and as a family we are curious to learn stories about Del that we may not know.
