Obituary of Major Glen Gordon McEwan

GLEN GORDON McEWAN (MAJOR) Glen Gordon McEwan has gone home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and his loving wife, Elsie McEwan. He was born on September 13, 1927 to Doris and James McEwan at Toronto, Ontario. He attended school there until he entered The Salvation Army College for Officers in 1944. In 1953 he married Elsie Wallace and together they, along with 5 children, moved across Canada to various appointments with The Salvation Army. Major Glen was well known in Regina as the Executive Director of The Salvation Army William Booth Home for 9 years, before retiring from active officership in 1992. He was a dedicated Kiwanian for most of his life. Glen leaves to mourn and celebrate his life five children, John (Annette), Margaret (David) Berezowski, Catherine, Mary, James (Winona); eight grandchildren, Jennifer Kellett, Heather (Scott) Neilson, Robyn, Timothy (Melissa), Kenneth (Michelle), Crystal Bedier, Michael and Mackenzie; nine great grandchildren, Jaia, Rylie, Paige, Austin, Avery, Declan, Sadie, Emerence and Kennadi; brother Alex (Evelyn); as well as many nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Funeral Service will be held at Salvation Army Haven of Hope Church, 2240 13th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3M7, on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Major Glen may be made to the Salvation Army Haven of Hope Church (address above).
