Obituary of Hilda Catherine Vogel

Hilda passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 78 years. She was predeceased by her husband John Vogel, her partner Roger Couturier, her parents Josef and Pauline Bartle, two brothers Otto and Victor Bartle and two sisters, Mary Buehler and Adeline Bartle. She is lovingly remembered by sister Pauline Boehm, her daughter Linda Osborne and sons James, Tony and John and her daughter in-laws Jeannette and Karen Vogel. Her grandchildren, Katie, Doug, Aaron, Jessie, Lexie, Tatjana, Nicolas, Autumn, her step granddaughters Rachel and Jessica and great granddaughter Brielle will forever miss their Omi. Her kind spirit will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, friends and her special adopted daughter Kim Kruzeniski. Hilda was born near Odessa, Russia in 1937 and emigrated to Odessa, Saskatchewan in 1949. She moved to Regina in 1952 and married John Vogel in 1959 where they raised their family. She remained a proud resident of Regina all her life. Hilda spent many hours volunteering at the Children’s Ward of the Pasqua Hospital and at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home where her mother Pauline was a resident for many years. The focus of her life was always her family and caring for others, often through their own illnesses. Hilda’s Christian faith helped her through many ordeals and she will be remembered as a strong compassionate woman who always had a hug for everyone. Prayer Service for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. In commemoration of Hilda’s life, a celebration will be held at St. Peter’s R.C. Catholic Church, 100 Argyle, Street, Regina, SK on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Father J.B. Okai officiating.Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
