Obituary of Audrey Dean Falconer

AUDREY DEAN FALCONER March 31, 1936 – September 11, 2016 Audrey Dean Falconer (nee Lowes) passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the age of 80 years. She was the youngest of 9 children to Sam and Annie Lowes. They owned and lived above the Star Bakery in Weyburn. She is survived by her sister Betty, who lives in Winnipeg. Audrey married Doug Falconer in May 1956. They had 2 children – Connie and James. She always joked that she married a Mountie to see Canada but only ended up being stationed in Saskatchewan. Audrey was a proud RCMP wife who worked alongside her husband in the early years while they lived at the many rural detachments he was stationed at. In 2013 Audrey was presented with the Second Man award by the RCMP for her tireless service for those many years. She leaves behind many valued friends from that time. Doug passed away in 1983. Audrey is survived by her children Connie (Albert) of Regina, SK and James (Leona) of Spruce Grove, AB. She was a proud grandmother to Janel (Steve), Colleen (Tyson), Kristen, Katelynn and Kyle. Audrey lovingly referred to herself as the Greatest Gramma to her only Great-grandchild Carter (Colleen and Tyson’s daughter). Audrey was known as a feisty, strong woman who overcame many obstacles in her 80 years. She was an example of determination and how to put a positive light on any struggle one may face. Audrey had a love of shoes, shopping and Caramilk bars. The family would like to thank the staff at Santa Maria for all their support and care over the years. She enjoyed the many opportunities to joke around and build friendships with the staff. We know she will be greatly missed. Following Audrey’s wishes there will be a private family service at a later date.
