Obituary of Robert Leslie McAfee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Leslie McAfee on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the age of 72. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Born in Regina Saskatchewan, Bob dedicated his life to serving his community in the roll of a Fire Fighter with the city of Regina until his retirement in 2005. Bob was a fun loving, outgoing man who always was quick to tell a good joke. He was an avid sportsman with a passion for football. In his younger years, Bob was part of the Regina Rams football team. He also loved playing broomball, curling, and shuffleboard. Bob was very much loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Bob was predeceased by his parents, William and Helene; sister Joyce (Denis) Dupasquier; and brothers, Ken, Jim, and Dave. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; son Scott (Amanda); grandchildren, Hailey, Lacey, and John; son Jeff (Andie); grandson Brandon; daughter Laurie (Doug) Ashmore; sister-in-law Lena McAfee; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend a Memorial Service celebrating Bob’s life at Celebration Lutheran Church, 3130 Renfrew Cres. East, Regina, SK on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Cory Illingworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P-3X1 or the charity of your choice.
