Life is so short. I wish I saw more of him in later years. He was a great guy and lots of fun. We had enjoyable and fun golf games when I lived in Saskatchewan.
Gary was a great engineer! He knew his stuff and how to handle conflicts.

I met Gary many years ago at the City when I worked with the Fire Department and we met again recently and had coffee together a few times and met to discuss other work related subjects. Gary was a very good person, extremely knowledgeable, and dedicated to his profession. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his sudden passing. Please accept my condolences on the loss of Gary. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

I'm so very sorry to learn if Gary's passing. I had tremendous respect for him. As an employer, he was tough but fair. As a client, he demanded the best. As a mentor, he inspired me to strive for continuous improvement.
I am a better engineer and a better person for having known Gary.

To Joyce and all of Gary's family;
Hearing of Gary's sudden death was shocking and sad. He was a cousin we didn't see much of but when we did it was fun to share family memories and a laugh. He may have been an engineer by trade but he was also our family's genealogist and we will miss his interest in us and our heritage. Seeing Gary always made me glad and sad because he reminded me so much of my favorite uncle Andrew and of my Grandpa Nieminen, the only grandpa that I knew. Losing him means I have also lost that connection.
My heart goes out to all of you. Enjoy and share all the memories you made with him.

I was so saddened to hear of Gary's death. I worked alongside him when I was employed at the City of Regina Engineering Department in the secretarial supervisory field. I found him to be a very quiet man, dedicated to his job and I had never heard a bad word said against him from anyone in the department in all the time I worked there.
He'll be sadly missed, I know, by his family and friends.
Blessings go out to his grieving family at this traumatic time.

My deepest condolences to Gary's family and friends. His sudden passing is such a shock to me. It is especially shocking as only three weeks ago I met with Gary and three other classmates from the Civil Engineering class of 1968. We were hoping to plan a 50th reunion for 2018. Gary's input will be sorely missed.
