Obituary of Sheila Joan Huber

SHEILA JOAN HUBER It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Sheila, beloved wife of Howard. She passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the age 81 years. Sheila was born July 23, 1935, in Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan to Grover and Marion Whittingham. She was predeceased by brother, Walter, survived by sister Belva. Sheila will be dearly missed by Howard, her husband of 62 years; children Sherry Taylor ( Larry Zinkhan), Brian (Jean), Mitch (Carol Clayton), and Jim (Brenda); grandchildren, Denita Bergen, Sterling Taylor, Courtney Sodergren, Justin Huber, Rachel Huber, Hayden Huber, Madison Huber, and Brita Huber; and six great-grandchildren. Sheila met Howard at a McLean dance in 1953. Soon, they married and settled on the farm near Balgonie where they would live, love and grow their life from 1954 until 1999. They retired to Balgonie, then later to Regina. Throughout Sheila's life her love of the family, farm, gardening, church and community shone through in every day of her life. She always enjoyed helping the fertile Saskatchewan earth produce and flourish, whether it was Howard’s crops or her wonderful garden and flowers. Sheila was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edenwold, SK. She was active her entire life serving the community of Balgonie through the Balgonie Community Club, Royal Purple and numerous other groups. Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Craig Moeller officiating. Interment will be held at the Balgonie Community Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Balgonie Seniors 50 Plus Club. Flowers most gratefully declined.
