Obituary of Janet Katherine Harriott Gregg

JANET KATHERINE HERRIOT GREGG April 15, 1916 – November 4, 2016 Janet passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years, surrounded by family and friends. We are sad to see her time here end but joyful in knowing she has gone home to her Lord and Savior. Predeceased by her parents James and Bertha Dobie; brothers Jim, Walter and Oliver; and sisters Ruby, Agnes and Eva. She is lovingly remembered by Laurie, her husband of 73 years; two children Rodger (Myrna) of Regina and Glen (Sharron) of Fort Qu’Appelle; two granddaughters Rhonda (Jack Seitz) of Frederick, CO and Kristie (Terry Nickerson) of Regina; two great-grandsons Jacob Seitz and Rylan Nickerson; “Adopted daughter” Margie Oldham (Ed); special friends John and Thelma Teichroeb; a dear niece Shirley Lussier (Andre); and brother-in-law Allen Gregg. Janet grew up on a farm near Maple Creek, SK. Her prairie roots were evident in her love of the outdoors where she gardened, watched birds, walked and spent many summers at the cottage on Last Mountain Lake. Our special thanks to the staff on the 4th floor of the Santa Maria Care Home for the many years of care they gave Janet. Public Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 3:00 p. m. – 5:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10.30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at Speers Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Darold Sauer officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
