Obituary of Maria Wilhelmina Parker

Maria passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the age of 78 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Wilhelm and Cornelia Hazelaar; sisters, Lena and Wilhelmina Hazelaar, and Nora Burkholder; as well as her daughter Jaqueline Hadiken. Maria is survived by her brother Ron (Linda) Hazelaar; children, Bill Parker, Cynthia Parker (Derek Leung), and Cora-Lynne Parker (Gerry); grandchildren, Ellixas Parker, Natasha Parker (Tim), Noel Leung, Delane Just ( Austin), and Jennifer Just. Maria was born on July 24, 1938 in Holland. In 1943, her and her parents came to Canada and settled in Regina, SK. Maria raised her four children in Lumsden, SK before her return to Regina. Upon her arrival back to Regina, she began to work for the city and loved to go to many craft sales as well as traveling everywhere and anywhere. Maria also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6.
