DOLORES BETTY KNAPP April 7, 1935 – November 15, 2016 We are deeply saddened by the loss of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Dolores passed away at her home in Southey, SK on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Left to celebrate her life are her children: daughter Nadene Perry (Lanny) and family James Nixon (Alysia), Luke Nixon (Betsy) and Holly Nixon; daughter Ladette Fuchs (Jerry) and family Jesse Fuchs and Tara Fuchs; daughter Lorna Roske and family Mandy Lowe (Eric) and Kurt Flaman (Sarah); son Jeremy Knapp (Roxanne) and family Lane Knapp, Tamara Knapp and Shelby Knapp. Mom was also very proud of her four great-grandchildren Max, Connor, Amelia and Jack and she was also loved by her nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Bertha and Andreas Voelpel, her husband Wilfred Roske (1971), second husband John Knapp (1998) and grandson Karson Knapp. Dolores grew up and lived near Southey her entire life. She started her education in a one-room school house (Kingsville School) and completed her education at Southey School. Dolores was a committed volunteer throughout her life in the communities of Serath, Hazelwood and Southey where she enjoyed the fellowship of her friends and neighbors. Her church was the center piece of her life. Dolores attended North Southey Zion Lutheran Church, and Southey Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She was active in many church committees and particularly loved the fun and comradery of the church choir, and of course the singing. Dolores spent over 40 years as a member of the Hazelwood Ladies Club, helping to create the famous Hazelwood Fall Suppers. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening and was a fabulous cook where no one would ever leave Mom’s house hungry. Mom believed in reduce, reuse, recycle long before it was invented. You will be forever in our hearts, Mom. Funeral Service well be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Southey, SK on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Lowell Dennis officiating. Interment will follow at North Southey Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
