Obituary of Margaret Mary Schienbein

MARGARET MARY SCHIENBEIN (née KIRBYSON) Margaret (Margie) died peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 82 years of age. Born in Fairfax, Manitoba on March 31, 1934 to Hilda and Harold Kirbyson, she and her sister Donna, were raised on the family farm. Margie moved to Regina in the late 1950’s where she met her future husband George Schienbein when they were both working at City Hall. They were married in 1959 and were happily married for 54 years until George's death in 2014. She was a loving mother to Dale and Lee Anne and took great delight in her two grandchildren, Sam and Megan. Her extended family included Tanya, Bary, sister Donna Marr, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sister-in-law Helen. She enjoyed curling (for 27 years at the Callie Curling Club), reading, walking, baking, music, and cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She was the consummate homemaker welcoming family and friends into an immaculate home filled with home-cooked meals, wonderful baking, warmth, and love. Margie was hospitable, gracious, and kind. Steadfast in her faith, she accepted her cancer diagnosis with courage and grace. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Grace Lutheran Church. At her request, no funeral service will be held. Flowers kindly declined. Donations in memory of Margie may be made to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or a charity of your choice.
