SHIRLEY KATHLEEN JOHNSON (née Nichol) It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley announces her passing on Friday, December 9, 2016 in Regina at the age of 86. Shirley passed peacefully with her family by her side. In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Leyland; sisters, Edith Nichol and Audrey Parsons, and brother Lyle Nichol. Shirley was the last of a generation of the Nichol family. She is survived by her four children, Beverly Kennedy (Donald), William Johnson (Lisa), Rhonda Ringheim (Kent), and Christine Kazeil (Randall); eleven grandchildren, Donny Kennedy (Candace), Kathy McCrum (Colan), Roxanne Danberg (Ryan), Breanne Al Idrissi (Mohammed), Andrea and Steven Johnson, Aidan, Kara, Liam, Ethan, and Keilan Kazeil; and nine great-grandchildren; all of whom were her “Sunshine”. Shirley is also survived by a much treasured extended family. Shirley, daughter of William and Millie Nichol, was born on the farm at Trossachs, SK on January 4th, 1930 and moved to Regina at the age of 18 to attend Business College. She met her husband of 63 years while working at SaskPower. From that point on, she dedicated her life to her husband and children. Shirley was the ultimate caregiver to her family, friends, and others in need. Her warm heart, caring nature and cookies will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at Broadway United Church, 105 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK, on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, 3535 8th Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 0T6 or Broadway United Church.
