Dear Mel, Brenda and Regan and families: I want to express our sincere condolences to you in the loss of your Dad. I spent a lot of time at your house in the summer of 1976 when I lifeguarded at the pool in Lampman. We had a lot of fun together, and your place was a "second home" for me. I was always welcomed, and was treated like just another kid of the household. I was living quite a distance from my own family that summer, and was happy to have all of you as my friends. I have been thinking of you since your Dad's passing, and wanted to let you know that my memories of your Dad are great ones, and I'm so sorry for your loss. There are only a few people in my life that I can truly say had a life long impact. Paul was one of those people. He was my teacher, my coach, my guidance counselor and a great family friend. It wasn't just what he taught, but how he taught it that inspired me to want an education and to work with people and numbers (strange combination I know). He made school and math fun! Who does that? Paul showed me that he wasn't just teaching to make a living but he did it because he cared for young people and wanted us all to succeed. Sorry I wasn't able to make the service. Mel, Brenda, Regan and family - take care and cherish the great memories of your awesome dad.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I have very fond memories of Mr. Lazar. Math was never my strength but he got me through it none the less. He was always happy to stop and talk to his many students and always knew every one of us. He was interested in knowing where we were and what we were doing. He will be missed.
