Obituary of Edith Josephine Sharpe

EDITH “Edie” JOSEPHINE SHARPE (née BOLSTAD) It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Mother and Grandmother, Edith Josephine Sharpe on Monday, December 26, 2016. She passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice, after a brief stay at the Pasqua Hospital, following a short and courageous battle with cancer. Edith leaves behind her daughter Coreene (Ted) Dupilka of Athabasca, Alberta; and her son Dwight (Lorraine) Sharpe of Vancouver, BC. She will be missed by her Grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Sazdov of Calgary, Alberta, Shaun (Jen) Dupilka of Fort MacMurray, Alberta, and Barrett Sharpe of Kelowna, BC; Great-grandchildren, Evan and Eric Sazdov, and Caleb and Calle Dupilka; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Edith was predeceased by her parents, Jens and Marie Bolstad; brothers, Ken, Jay (Phil), and Lyle (Ann); and her husband Harry C. Sharpe. Edith was born in Bengough, SK and came to Regina for nursing school with the Gray Nuns (graduating class 1945). She worked as a Public Health Nurse until her retirement. Edith volunteered with the Humane Society, enjoyed the Scandinavian and coffee Clubs, and played Bridge with friends at Wintergreen Estates. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff and doctors at Grace Hospice, Pasqua Hospital (Palliative Care), and ER for the excellent, extraordinary, and loving care Edith received. At Edith’s request, no service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held for the family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith would be greatly appreciated and may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, 1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 4B3; or the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
