Obituary of Leonard Anton Schmidt

LEONARD SCHMIDT Leonard Schmidt, late of Regina, SK, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the age of 65. Len was born in Gravelbourg, SK on December 7, 1951. He resided in the Cathedral area of Regina since 1965 and attended high school at Central Collegiate. Len was predeceased by his mother Georgette; brother Wayne; nephew Danny; and sister-in-law Bev. He is survived by two sisters, Myrna (Wayne) and Dorothy; nine brothers, Jim (Marlene), George (Marceda), Don, Bryan, Walter (Rose), Paul (Shawna), Andy (Traci), Joey (Vonnie), and Bill (Allison); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Len was an intelligent, gentle soul, who loved life. He enjoyed most of his days visiting with friends and family, and frequenting the Eagles Club and in early years, the Plains Hotel. He was very social, thoughtful, and loved hearing other people’s stories. Len’s passions were reading, listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s, and watching Jeopardy, which he often won. He will be best remembered by his contagious laugh, genuine smile, and copacetic personality. As Len put it himself, “It’s been a slice”. Celebration of Life will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Len, may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, P.O.
