Obituary of Andrew Leslie Kulcsar

ANDREW JOSEPH KULCSÁR With great sadness and very heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather Andrew Joseph Kulcsár at the Pasqua Hospital. After an extended illness, Dad left us to be reunited with his Sweetheart on Monday, January 2, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Agnes Rose Mary (Lovás) Kulcsár; his parents, Joseph Kulcsár and Appolonia (Rieger) Kulcsár; and brothers, Joe, Frank, and Ricky Kulcsár. Dad will be deeply missed by his children, Deborah (Ken) Schaffer and Randy (Mackenzie) Kulcsár; grandchildren, Landon and Preston Schaffer, and Andrew and Mára Kulcsár. Dad was the oldest of seventeen children. He leaves behind thirteen surviving brothers and sisters and their families, Henry (Jim), Evelyn, Rosie, Vivian, Rita, Steve, Mariann, Leona, Donny, Bernice, Ralph, Dorothy, and John. Dad is also survived by Agnes’ sisters who were just like sisters to him, Helen, Mary, Terrie, and Julie. Born on the farm near Grayson, SK on April 30, 1935 at the height of the Great Depression, Dad was the reason for the farm’s and family’s continuance at a very young age after his own father became ill. Always thinking of others, the farm’s survival came at great personal sacrifice. He loved his family. There was never a more generous man with his affection and time. Dad met Mom in 1963 and they started their life together in Regina. He worked for many years at Dairy Producers while Aggie served in restaurants. With a view to continually improve life for their children, they built their family home. Andy was the life of every party and enjoyed music and dancing at an early age. He was an accomplished and self-taught musician, who loved playing accordion, but who could pick up almost any instrument. Andy could be found humming a tune and making up songs while building or fixing just about anything in the garage. Anywhere Dad went, he knew someone and was always able to start up a conversation and enjoy a laugh. We have lost a great man. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
