Edna McNutt

Obituary of Edna Gertrude McNutt

With deepest sorrow Kathleen announces the passing of her dearly beloved mother on Friday January 6, 2017. Edna was a wonderful wife and mother dedicating her life to caring for her family. In her youth she was a teacher in a one room school in rural Saskatchewan; however, when she met her husband of 49 years, she moved to Ottawa where they were stationed with the RCMP. She became an accountant and worked in the field until her retirement. Edna loved music, in particular playing her organ and singing in the church choir, was a passionate gardener and adored her dogs. She will be deeply missed. Edna passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86 years after a long battle with dementia. Predeceased by her husband Gerald McNutt; parents Joseph and Elsie Neis; and her brother Ralph Neis, she is survived by her daughter Kathleen; son-in-law Stuart; two nieces and one nephew. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Chapel at RCMP Depot Division, 5600 11th Ave., Regina, SK, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. RCMP Chaplain Jean Morisset officiating. Friends so wishing may make a donation in Edna’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan Inc., 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1.
