Obituary of Adelaide Eleanor Gross

Adelaide Eleanor Gross, late of Regina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Adelaide was born on the family Homestead, near Hodgeville, Saskatchewan on June 17,1919, where she lived until December of 1943. She then moved to Regina. Adelaide was employed by the F. W. Woolworth Co. 11th Avenue Store as office manager, beginning in November 1946 and lasting until retirement in December 1984. After retirement she became involved in volunteering, visiting the sick and elderly in Little Flower Parish and Wascana Rehab Center as well as helping at the Marian Centre and the Blue Mantle. Aunt Ad lived at home to help Grandma and Grandpa until they passed away in 1973. She kept the home fires burning so all could meet at 421 College Avenue whenever they would come to town. She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Gross in 1973 and also by six brothers and five sisters over the years, and to date is survived by one sister, Edith, of Kingston, Ontario. She will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Donations in Adelaide’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
