Obituary of Ronald Anthony Michael Hameluck

RONALD ANTHONY MICHAEL HAMELUCK Ron passed away peacefully, at Sunset Extendicare, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret; children, Jody and Mike, Jeff and Carol, and Paul and Alana; grandchildren, Sarah and Amy; siblings and their spouses, Harry and Alice, Diane and Jim, Tom and Terry, and George and Pat; and in-laws, Tena and Don. Ron was predeceased by his parents, George and Julia and his siblings, Bill, Clarence, and Kathy Haworth; and in-law Lois. Ron was a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He worked as an accountant, first at Federated CO-OP, then Cairn's Homes, Nuco and finally at his own accounting firm. In the late 70's, Ron convinced his boss at Cairn's Homes that a computer would be a good tool for the accounting department. He went to Toronto, found that indeed a computer would be a great help with payroll, so such computers were introduced to that world. A computer was introduced to his own home in 1979. Jeff remembers Ron buying a colour computer in 1981. Ron became quite adapt as using a computer as did both his sons. One of Ron's great loves was travel. When the children were young, camping was the way to go. The family traveled to many places in Canada and the U.S., often traveling with Bob, Lois, and Bonnie. One of His favourite destinations was Northern Saskatchewan, where he would fish either with his family or with friends Leo Rogochewsky and Ron Kosloski. Ron and Margaret continued to travel. They took many road trips, flew to New Zealand and went on two cruises. For the most part, Ron had a very good life. His children grew to become wonderful adults and he was happily married for 50 years. Ron did, however, have a number of health problems: heart and back problems were his nemesis. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, commitment to family, and his willingness to help others. Ron will be missed by many. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Ron, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
