Lightning Thunderbird Woman Ka-wahsamohk pinehsihkwe Isabel Marian Pratt went into eternal rest with her family by her side. Marian is predeceased by her husband William Hector Pratt; parents; father James Eric (Sarah) Cote; mother Margaret (Hugh) McKay brothers, Lloyd, Alvin, Wayne, Everette, David, Hugh Jr., Graham, Keith Cameron; sister Charlene Cote; daughters, Vivian Anaquod, Doreen Fox, and Sarah Mae Pratt. She is survived by her brother James Eric Cote; sons, William (Terry), Charles (Yvonne), James (Delores), Keith (Lisa), Thomas (Norinne), and David; daughters, Joan Lavallee, May (Mike) George, Liz Pratt, Loretta (Bruce) Cappo, Marla (Marc) Sparvier, and Joanne (Bernard) Jack; sons-in-law, Robert Anaquod, and Conrad Cappo; sisters, Rozella McKay, Barbara Gunn, and Sandra Cojocar; sister-in-law Lena Cote; as well as numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; her BFF, Corinna Wajunta; adopted children, Lorraine Cyr, Darwin McNab, and many others. Honourable mention to the McNab, Keepness, and Haywahe families. Our Mother served in many community capacities such as serving on Band Council, CFS, health Committees and Elder on the Muscowpetung First Nation. She also served as Elder with the Gathering Place and Fox Valley. Mom was also a Saulteaux language instructor at our school and helped to develop the FHQ Saulteaux language app. Most of her life and time was dedicated to being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family and many others she came in contact with. She was also able to communicate through sign language at an early age. As a residential school survivor she rose above the adversities and tragedies like so many others like her. Isabel had a heart to forgive and believed prayer was the only answer to any situation. Her favorite word that she shared with family and friends was “mono” which meant never mind or leave it. Her heart had been broken over the years due to the loss of her siblings caused by alcohol and drugs. She spoke endlessly against those addictions. She would want her teachings to continue on with her children and their families. She would also want all to continue to pray, forgive, and most of all to support one another. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to ANHH, RGH staff, with special acknowledgment to Callie, Dalaney and MICU. Also mention to Kathy in the Renal Unit and especially the staff and residents of Lakeview Lodge. We appreciated the outpouring of love and support from everyone at this time of loss to our Matriarch, Jazzy One.
