Obituary of William Lawrence Whelan

William (Bill) Whelan, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the age of 91. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Maude Whelan, and his brother, Robert. He loved and was loved by his wife Joan to whom he was married 62 years; his children, Lawrence (Della), Kevin (Debbie), Kathleen, Patricia and special grandchild Amy; his most beloved grandchildren, Erin McFarland (Nathan), Kevin, Meagan Gelowitz (Jason), Kim Douglas (Tyler), Christine Bruce (Gord), Amanda Wray (Kyle), and Sean (Stacia Schoffer) and nine great-grandchildren. Bill worked as the Executive Director of the Regina Chamber of Commerce and District Manager of the Canadian Petroleum Association. Bill was a long time member of the Regina Rotary Club. Thank you to the amazing staff at Parkside Extendicare. Their work to help him through his last days was truly remarkable. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Gary Lindenbach at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Flowers are gratefully declined.
