After high school, Len pursued a career in accounting working for the Provincial Auditor’s office and the Department of Finance. He led an active lifestyle and kept physically fit as Len and Joyce went jogging every day. Len enjoyed camping, hiking and backpacking in the mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. He was an avid Rider fan having season tickets for many years and he also enjoyed baseball being a Toronto Blue Jay fan. In their travels, Len made sure they attended a major league baseball game if they were in the area of a major league ball park. Len enjoyed his travels but he never lost sight of what was truly important as he was always there for his family. He volunteered in coaching baseball when his sons were young as well as volunteering at St. Peter’s church serving two terms as finance chairperson as well as volunteering for liturgy duties. Len was always interested in the activities of his children and grandchildren and attended many events in which they were involved. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Zaidi for Len’s care and later to Dr. Schussler as well as the Riverbend Crossing Care Home nurses, medical aides, caregivers, and all staff who were so caring and compassionate to Len in his final months.
