Obituary of Walter Kowal

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Kowal, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Walter passed away peacefully at Santa Maria Seniors Home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 after a three year battle with dementia, his family and friends were at his side. He was predeceased by his parents Annie and Michael Kowal; step-father George Schurko; brother Leo; step-brother Phillip; and step-sister Minnie. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Angeline; daughter Sandra (Curtis) Beingessner; sons Steve (Dorota) and Ken (Mary) and his loving, adorable grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walter was born near Fosston, Saskatchewan and was employed by SaskTel as a Supervisor of Planning for 35 years. He enjoyed gardening, travelling and puttering in his workshop, occasionally lending a helping hand to his neighbors, friends and family. The family would like to thank Dr. Lotz and the wonderful nurses, caregivers and staff of Santa Maria for their compassionate care and support. They served as angels to the very end. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Basil Malowany officiating.
