Dear Cousin Jack and cousins ,
I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Richey just told me today.
MJ was always so good to me as I grew up and throughout my life.
I would stay with her for 1-2 weeks when I was young when Jack was away during the summer on projects. She taught me so much.
We went to see" Singing in the Rain" when it came out. What fun we had.
MJ will be missed by all of us. I am so thankful for the good memories.
Sincerely,
Ellie and the Lane family

Jack and Family:
My heart goes out to you all at this sad time. I saw the notice in the Globe and Mail this weekend and shared it with my mother Jacqueline (90) in Texas.
My early memories of Mary Jean are from my childhood. A beautiful, vivacious woman with an engaging smile dropped by our house in Regina with Jack and a Christmas gift for us, the children of her friends. It was magically decorated with miniature red felt stockings for each of us. Jack had been a friend of my father's since first year engineering.
A few years ago when I had the opportunity to return to Regina for a few months as a consultant, I looked up Mary Jean and Jack and shared much laughter with them. I smile as I write this at the memory of Mary Jean's voice and sense of humour. She had a zest for fun that was infectious; such a beautiful person. I feel quite blessed to have gotten to know you both as more than friends of parents, and I treasurer the glass wheat sheaf Mary Jean gave me when I returned to Toronto.
Big verbal hugs for all of you. Take good care of Jack.
Love
Leslie

I was a neighbor in the 80s and took a class with Mary Jean. She told me that she tried to learn a new skill every year. I have spent my life since then trying to emulate her -- she was a real inspiration. I have never forgotten her words.

Please accept our deepest sympathies in the recent passing of Mary Jean. I was saddened to learn today of your great loss. My childhood home was next door to the Lynn's and I have many fond memories of their wonderful family. Lewis was a close friend, and we shared many good experiences growing up together. Their parents were truly gracious and loving people, and much respected by all who knew them.
I remember well the academic excellence of Mary Jean who always served as an inspiration to others on the benefits of hard work and high achievement.
Caroline and I send along our heartfelt prayers to all your family during this difficult time. Surely the Lord will welcome with open arms this lovely lady.

Dear Jack and family,
I was saddened to read of the death of your dear Mary Jean. I had asked the staff at Henry's if you two had been in to Henry's. I haven't worked there for over a year but would often go in to visit and while I visited with many regulars I did not see you sitting at your usual table by the windows and Mary Jean always raving about the lobster bisque and our lasagna. You were such a devoted partner and it was always a pleasure to sit and chat with you two! Condolences from Henry and I. Joan Ripplinger
