Obituary of Gordon Hugh Dash

Gordon, late of Regina, SK formerly of Regina Beach, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the age of 92 years. He was predeceased by his parents George and Beryl Dash; wife Helen; brother Howard; daughters Donna and Sandra; and son-in-law Barry. Gordon is survived by his daughter Beverly and son George of Regina; three grandchildren, Sydney and Matthew of Regina and Chuck (Tish) and their son Olliver of Calgary; sisters-in-law Frances Glacken of Winnipeg, Edith Dash of Vernon, and numerous nieces and nephews. After serving in World War II, Gordon graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He began his employment with Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Ltd. residing firstly in Island Falls, Saskatchewan and later in Flin Flon, Manitoba in the position of Superintendent of Churchill River Power. Gordon then accepted a position in Regina with SaskPower, retiring shortly thereafter at the age of 65 years. Gordon resided in Regina Beach for the next twenty six years. In 2016 he moved to Victoria Park Personal Care Community where he resided until the time of his passing. Gordon was a member of the Regina Beach Leisure Time Club for many years involved in the walking and exercise clubs and enjoyed playing in the crib league. He enjoyed sitting in his living room watching and taking pictures of the birds on one of his many bird feeders. There will be no service at Gordon’s request. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Flowers and donations most gratefully declined.
