Obituary of Ron Smallwood

RONALD CHARLES SMALLWOOD

 1953 - 2017

Ron passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Gilbert Smallwood (2007) and Edna Smallwood née Denton (1995). Ron is survived by numerous cousins and his faithful companion Ringo. He had a passion for his work and was a heavy equipment operator for 42 years. Ron’s other love was sports, especially football, and he had an uncanny ability to remember and quote stats of players and teams. Ron loved to garden and canned his yearly harvest of cucumbers, beets, tomatoes, and peppers. In the winters when he was laid off, Ron played in numerous racquetball leagues and he developed many new friendships with the other players. Ron could often be seen with Ringo, just the two of them, walking the neighborhood before and after work. A Memorial Reception will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
