Dorothy, late of Regina, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Hulme and her parents William and Elizabeth Haug. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Susan (Michael) of Toronto; her sons Bill (Vionne) of Saskatoon and David (Nadine) of Ottawa; as well as her sister Frances Haug of Regina and brother Tom Haug of Yorkton.  She is also survived by five grandsons, Joe (Jill) of Taipei, Taiwan, Bryce of Saskatoon, Marek of Toronto, Lyndon of Cambridge, MA, and Michael of Toronto; as well as nieces Marguerite Caldwell of Saskatoon, Michelle Haug of Calgary and nephew Murray (Maria) Haug of Yorkton. Raised on the family farm west of Yorkton, Dorothy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Toronto General in 1948. She returned to Yorkton where she met a young agricultural reporter, W. Hulme Henley. They married in 1952 and settled on the Henley family farm near Sedley. After selling the farm in 1972, Hulme joined Saskatchewan Agriculture and Dorothy continued nursing wherever they relocated, be it Yorkton or Weyburn. They eventually retired in Regina and spent many happy and fulfilling years together. Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and caring individual, and a woman of great faith, whose compassion touched all those who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at the Regina General Stroke Unit and the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make donations, in memoriam, to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 2160 Broad Street, Regina, SK S4P 1Y5 or to a charity of your choice.
