Obituary of Larry Allen Wiebe

LARRY ALLEN WIEBE

Larry Allen Wiebe, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully with his sisters by his side, on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 56 years. He is survived by his brother Clifford Wiebe (Naomi); sisters, Arlene Graham (Gord) and Donna Wiebe; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins. Larry is predeceased by his mother Agnes Wiebe; his grandparents; and several uncles and aunties, who are all so lucky to have him back. Larry attended a special needs class at Herbert Elementary School with an amazing teacher who he absolutely loved, Mrs. McWilliams.  He was very intelligent and learned “reading, writing and arithmetic.” Raised in Herbert, Larry attended the Swift Current Workshop. In 1997, he moved to Regina, where he attended the Regina Cosmopolitan Learning Centre up to his retirement in 2015. Larry was very competitive. He loved to bowl and participated in the Special Olympics and won medals in racing and bowling. His participation ribbons were, in his eyes, first place ribbons every single time, and nobody was telling him different. Larry loved to put puzzles together and play games. He had a lifetime long fascination for Mickey Mouse, pins and hats, and was a true coffee addict.  Larry loved to play jokes on people and played a terrible game of hide and seek because he could never stop giggling. Larry’s infectious personality and beautiful smile will be truly missed. He loved everyone and seldom forgot a name or face. Larry won a lot of people over with the most amazing sense of humour and sweet personality that could soften anybody’s heart.  A lesson of how to truly live, laugh, and love was what Larry taught anybody who crossed paths with him. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the staff and friends at the Cosmopolitan Learning Centre and the Froom Crescent Group Home for all your care, kindness, and love showed to Larry, and thank you to the staff at Extendicare Sunset for your kindness and compassion throughout. God bless you all! Come and Go Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Larry, may be made to the Recreation Department at Sunset Extendicare, 260 Sunset Driver, Regina, SK S4S 2S3.
