Obituary of Robert Stanley Tataryn

Bob late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side. That morning, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, he went to be with his Lord after a long and very brave battle with cancer. Bob is predeceased by his son Leigh Tataryn; parents Peter and Betty Tataryn; and brother Wayne Tataryn. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Muriel Tataryn; son Sean Tataryn; daughter Renee (Ken) Dobrowolski; and brother Brian (Denise) Tataryn. As a young adult Bob tried his hand at selling magazines door to door which he really enjoyed as it took him across Canada. Trying something closer to home Bob worked in groceries at the Dominion Stores, meeting his one true love Muriel, a co-worker at the time. Later on he accepted a position with SGI in accounting and after some time moved into computers, working in many capacities. Called a “Computer Geru” by his daughter, he was continually expanding his knowledge of his trade. Following his retirement from SGI, Bob filed taxes for businesses then settled on becoming a commissionaire as his retirement job. While a commissionaire, he spent time at the airport, refinery and police scenes but mostly he was posted at the RCMP barracks. He had an incredible work ethic that was most noteworthy. Bob loved to learn and was always taking on something new. He had many interests and hobbies whether it was reading, doing puzzles, listening to music, playing chess, trying out a new recipe, playing keyboard or guitar, gardening or spending time with family to name a few. He enjoyed going for breakfasts with people. He loved his bible and his Lord. Bob loved Christmas and his excitement for the season was contagious. He was regularly involved in some type of fitness throughout his life such as hapkido, jogging, weight training and cycling even up to his last few weeks.  Bob became a refined woodworker and carver over the span of 25 years. He gifted out an array of pieces and drew many admires of his beautiful work. He welcomed engaging in a hearty debate most anytime. Bob liked to laugh and tell jokes. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and we are so very saddened to say goodbye. We rejoice that one day we will be together again on the other side. Throughout Bob’s illness, never did he complain, he trusted in his Lord and Saviour until he drew his last breath. Now pain free and enjoying his rewards in Heaven we celebrate Bob’s life. A Service in Bob’s Honor will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  The family wishes to thank Kinsmen Telemiracle for funding the several trips to Edmonton for treatments and surgery for Bob. A thank you as well to the Palliative Home Care team for all of their kindness and support over the months.
