Beverley Bell

Obituary of Beverley Grace Bell

Beverley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the age of eighty-seven.  Beverley passed away following a difficult two month period in which she had to deal with multiple health issues.  She was predeceased by her husband George Bell; her parents James and Emily Balfour; and brothers Jack Balfour, and George Balfour. She is survived by her sons Randy Bell and Bill (Kim) Bell; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Miles Bell, Wes (Norma) Bell, Ken (Olive) Bell; sister-in-law Ella Balfour; and numerous nieces and nephews. Beverley lived in Regina her entire life, except during World War II when her family joined her father as he served on military bases in Victoria, BC and London, Ontario. After the family returned from the war, Beverley started her career working in the offices of STC, remaining with the company for over forty years.  In 1961, Beverley married George Bell.  During their nearly 54 years together, they enjoyed spending time with their family, travelling with their grandchildren, and especially spending time with them at their cottage at Sandy Beach on Katepwa Lake. In her retirement, Beverley enjoyed knitting, often constructing dolls and clowns for her great-grandchildren and charities.  She also greatly enjoyed the time she spent volunteering at the Saskatchewan Military Museum, which resulted in her being honoured with a Diamond Jubilee Medal. As George’s health deteriorated, Beverley dedicated all of her energy to ensure that he could remain at home until his death, by faithfully taking care of him during his illness.  Following George’s death, Beverley continued to live independently at home.  She always kept busy in her yard and attended as many of her great-grandchildren’s activities as possible. The family would like to extend their thanks to staff of the Pasqua Hospital’s 4A and 3A Units for their dedication and for the great care that they provided for Beverley during her illness.  As per Beverley’s request a short memorial service will be held at the grave site for both her and George at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation in Beverley’s memory to a charity of their choice.
