Obituary of Tom Welin

May 29, 1929 – May 28, 2017

 

Tom passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 87 years.  He was predeceased by his wife Florence and parents Alf and Adele Welin.  Tom is survived by his daughters Kris (Randy) Deobald and Lisa (Rick) Tabin; grandchildren and great-grandchild, Camolyn (Nick) and Hatley Martin, Deanne (Adam) Swift, Lance (Rylie) Tabin, Kira, Luke and Tanner Deobald; siblings, Bob (Thelma) Welin and Carol (Jim) Hanel as well as many nieces. Tom was a devoted family man who took pride in his children and grandchildren. He attended numerous sporting events, music and dance recitals. He had a long distinguished career with Dominion Bridge. Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman and long-time Saskatchewan Roughrider supporter. He enjoyed his long association with his neighbors and friends in Castle Bay as well as fellowships with his walking group. The family wishes to thank the staff and new friends at College Park Retirement Residence as well as the staff of the Regina General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make memorial donations in Tom’s name to Canadian Diabetes Association, 917 Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2P6.
