Karen Zerr

Obituary of Karen Louise Zerr

NOVEMBER 12, 1953 – MAY 28, 2017

She is a FORCE!

Karen was seldom lost for words or a story about people she encountered over her lifetime. On Sunday, May 28, 2017 Karen decided to move the conversation. She was born in Regina, SK and after more than 63 years it was cancer that took her life but never her legacy. Her professional career was marked by significant achievements and a real connection to almost everyone she met.  Karen loved to reminisce about her experiences. Karen was a fierce Rider fan and was looking forward to taking in a game at the new stadium. When it became doubtful she would make it to that day she told her family and her medical care team that she would “help the Riders any way she can on this side or the other side”. Karen was predeceased by her father Joe Zerr. She is survived by her mother, Frances Zerr; her sisters, Diane Edwards (George), Leanne Harris (Trevor) and Janet Quevillon (Nelson); her brothers, Murray Zerr (Cheryl), David Zerr (Kathy) and Daryl Zerr (Mylene Piche).  Auntie Karen will be deeply missed by her twelve nieces and nephews and four and half grand nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and Oncology Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, the staff at Helping Hands Care Home and the staff of the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their dedication and professionalism. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at Rosewood Park Alliance Church, 1300 North Courtney Street, Regina, SK, NEXT Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. Everyone who wishes to attend is asked to wear a little “Rider green.” Interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
