Obituary of Raymond Martin Schuett

RAYMOND MARTIN SCHUETT

Raymond passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the age of 94.  He was predeceased by his wife, Elsie; step daughter Connie (Kenny) Rolfe; parents Valentine and Clothilda Schuett; four brothers, Norbert, Arthur, Leonard, and Clarence; and three sisters, Helen Jordan, Irene Lamb, and Bernice Hunter. Raymond is survived by step son Jim (Tracy) Kenny; grandchildren, Sherry (Rolfe) Martin, Nicole (Kevin) (Rolfe) Finucan, Tyler Kenny, and Amanda Kenny; as well as great-grandchildren, Noah and Paige Martin, Hudson and Stella Finucan. Raymond grew up on the family farm in Truax, SK and devoted his life to farming. He was always an active participant in community activities. Raymond loved curling and spent many hours playing and watching the game. He met and married Elsie Kenny in 1965.  In 1966, Raymond and Elsie moved from Truax to Regina for the winters. They continued to farm till Raymond’s retirement in 1986 and then moved fulltime to Regina, where they remained until Elsie’s passing in 2013.  Raymond and Elsie spent many years travelling and especially enjoyed their trips to California to visit Connie, Sherry, and Nicole and in later years to see the great-grandchildren. Raymond was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis club and active participant of Christ the King choir. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Linda, Theresa and all the wonderful staff at Coteau Range Manor in Avonlea, SK for the exemplary caring and compassion Raymond received these last few years. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ The King Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina, SK on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
