Obituary of Robert James Hincks

ROBERT JAMES “BOB” HINCKS

December 2, 1925 – June 26, 2017

Bob, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife, June Hincks; parents, William and Pearl Hincks; brothers and sisters, John, Ollie, Margaret, Lily, Bill, Lois, and Gordon; and brother- and sister-in-law Wes and Evelyn Hancock. Bob is survived by his son Howard (Jo-ann) Hincks; granddaughters, Candace (Chad) Hunt, Leanne (Brady Achtymichuk) Hincks, and Brittney (Taylor Barth) Hincks; great-grandchildren, Natalie and Jensen Hunt; sister-in-law Mary Ann Hincks; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Bob grew up on the farm at Penzance and was an avid sports fan, playing hockey, and baseball. He attended one year at the University of Saskatoon before moving to Regina to work for Ashdowns (now Acklands) for which he was a salesman for over 40 years.

Bob and June were married on June 24, 1954 and spent many happy years together, until June’s recent passing on June 5, 2017. They loved to travel, enjoying many trips to Hawaii.

Bob’s granddaughters and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, spoiling them every chance he could. He faithfully attended swimming lessons, recitals, soccer games, and concerts. Papa Bob especially enjoyed Sunday suppers with the family or most recently “tea parties” with Natalie and Jensen.

Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation; Salvation Army; Diabetes Association; or Lung Association.
