I just heard of John's passing. Another great Reginian gone. He was one of my dad's ( John Trehas) best friends from 1965-90's. Oh how they could talk for hours about the Greek community, life and politics. I remember his easy smile for all he met, and the free milkshakes when we dropped in to the restaurant to say hi. I remember Mary and Helen's wedding. He was so proud of his beautiful girls. My dad is gone now too, hope they are chatting together again. Condolences to all his loved ones.

My sympathies are with your family at this time. I am Fergie's daughter & my Dad spent a lot of time at the restaurant at the Golden Mile. He loved the Christmas baking he was given. I do miss the restaurant & John & Staff. Take care

I have heard with great sadness that John has passed away. I learned this too late to attend any services. John was a kind thoughtful man. John & Eva lived with my dad in Moose Jaw for a while when he worked at the Royal Hotel before he came to Regina. A few years back whenever he was in the Golden Mile he would stop by the store, stick his head in the door & say "let's be Frank about it" then he would laugh & be on his way. My condolences to the whole family.

Ενας υπεροχος ανθρωπος εφυγε για την γειτονια των αγγελων. Ειμαι σιγουρος οτι θα ειναι ευτυχισμενος οχι μονο για την αγαπη που εδινε στους γυρω του αλλα και γιατι θα συναντησει την αγαπημενη του συζυγο που εχασε τοσο νωρις. Δεν θα ξεχασω την ευγενεια και την αγαπη που εδινε στους ανθρωπους και την αυρα που εξεπεμπε γυρω του. Uncle John left his mark with everyone he came in contact with. He lived a remarkable life with many highs and some lows and most important is it was a life that was not wasted. His energy was infectious and you couldn't help but smile when around him.
