Obituary of Howard Herbert Huber

                                                     September 9, 1931 – July 15, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our father Howard, formerly of Balgonie.  Howard passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Howard was born to Conrad and Elizabeth Huber, September 9, 1931, on the farm near Balgonie where he lived nearly his entire life. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Sheila (2016) and sister Hildegard (1931). Howard will be dearly missed by his family; children, Sherry Taylor (Larry Zinkhan), Brian (Jean), Mitch (Carol Clayton), and Jim (Brenda); grandchildren, Denita Bergen, Sterling Taylor, Courtney Sodergren, Justin Huber, Rachel Huber, Hayden Huber, Madison Huber, and Brita Huber; six great-grandchildren; and sister Elfrieda Rumpel. Howard and Sheila married in 1954 operating the farm and raising their children until 1999 when they retired in Balgonie.  He remained active in farming until the very end, proudly inspecting the crops and providing his advice as the farm moves into the 5th generation of the Huber family.  Throughout his life Howard had many passions: farming, fixing and tinkering, travelling with Sheila, and supporting the community of Balgonie.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.  Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Craig Moeller officiating. A luncheon will follow at St. Marks then interment at Balgonie Community Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined.
