Chad Penner

Obituary of Chad Robert Penner

Chad Robert Penner, a lifelong resident of Regina, SK, died unexpectedly on July 25, 2017 at the age of 45 years. Chad is survived by his parents, Sheila (nee Robinson) and Larry Penner, his six siblings, Anita Orr, Lawrence, David and Justin Penner, Andrea Hannemann, Andrew Penner and his grandmother Marie Penner. He is predeceased by his grandfather, Frank Penner and grandparents James and Hazel (nee Mahon) Robinson.

Chad was born in Regina on October 11, 1971 and spent all but two years of his life in the city. He lived the normal life of a boy and young man with a gift for music, athletic, loved basketball, an avid hockey and football fan, had a sly sense of humour, a desire to live right and was closely connected to his immediate family who now number 25 souls.

After high school, Chad worked for a year to earn money to serve a two-year volunteer mission for his church. He was assigned to serve in Japan, which he described as the greatest experience of his life. Chad returned home a month early and was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a mental illness that takes a severe toll on one’s life, on future opportunities, and which became a primary contributor to his early death. In spite of it all, he never complained and did his best to cope in a positive way.

Funeral Service will be held at the LDS Chapel, 550 Sangster Blvd, Regina, SK on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with public visitation one-hour prior. Interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. The family look forward to meeting with all who are able to attend.
