Obituary of Margaret Elise Flynn

Margaret passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the age of 85 years.  She was predeceased by her husband and loving companion, of 53 years, Joseph. Margaret was an amazing wife, mother, friend and teacher.  She will be missed and her memory cherished by her children, Elizabeth, Peter (Barbara), Helen (Kevin) and David (Cynthia); and her grandchildren Liam, Olivia, Juliana, Elyse, Aiko and Yukiko.  We were all truly graced by her love and the warmth of her beautiful smile.  Margaret was born in Northampton, England.  She trained and worked as a nurse and midwife in England.  Later, while raising her family, she acquired an Education degree at the University of Regina.  In Canada, she continued to work as a nurse and later as a nursing instructor.  She was passionate about obstetrics and loved being present when a new life entered this world. She provided great care and wisdom to all the mothers she cared for.  Her independence and sense of adventure brought her to Canada while love, marriage, family and friends made Canada her home.  She loved to travel, made many wonderful friends around the world and shared her love of life with her family and those around her.  She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, a kind, loving and funny person with a zest for life. In the last days of her life the frailty of age required her to live at Victoria Park Personal Care Home.  The family would like to thank the staff there who provided her care and comfort in the last 18 months.  Prayers will be held at St. Martin de Porres Parish, 4720 Castle Road, Regina SK on Tuesday August 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres Parish on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Peter Pham Celebrant.  Interment at Riverside Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Arthritis Society, 110-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 or a charity of your choice.
