I met Garrett many years ago, when I wrote a profile story about him for the Regina Leader Post. He left a lasting memory with me and I'm sure, so many other people. A classy, talented and interesting man. I was so sad to (belatedly) hear of his passing, just today. He left this world a better place. RIP Garrett.

My thoughts are with Garrett's family at this time. I really enjoyed getting together with him and Tara and Leslie recently for lovely dinners and great chats! So thankful that he has left us with many great stories through his books. A life well lived.

"Gary and I will and were friends forever. I have every book signed and we ate many meals in his den as neither of us liked a lot of people around I think" So sorry for the loss to all the family.

Lesley, Tara, Sean and Kevin, I offer you my heartfelt condolences. Having known your father for over 50 years, I had great respect for him and his many contributions to the political, literary and historic life of Saskatchewan. He will be missed.
