Obituary of Bertilla Marchiori

BERTILLA MARCHIORI

Bertilla passed away at her home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 81. She was born in Rossana Veneto, Italy and moved to Canada in 1959 to marry her fiancé, Giovanni. Bertilla loved spending time with family, especially during the holidays. “Nonna” loved her grandchildren and they visited her frequently to spend time baking, sewing, knitting, gardening, going for walks, and playing board games. She also enjoyed going to the lake and had a passion for gardening.  Bertilla was fortunate to travel to Italy and have a final visit with her family last year. Bertilla is survived by her three sons, Cidio, David and Jianni Marchiori; four grandchildren, Luisa, Gabriel, Gianna, and Luca Marchiori; and her siblings in Italy, Antonio, Teresa, and Giannina Caron. She was predeceased by her son David Marchiori; husband Giovanni Marchiori; brother Mario Caron; and her parents Pietro and Assunta Caron. Special thanks to Bertilla’s son David who quit his job in Toronto and spent an entire year caring for his mother in Regina. A private family service has been held. Flowers most gratefully declined.
