... such good memories, such a wonderful person: way back in the 80s we (Duncan, Doreen, and many others) enjoyed skating Sundays at the old stadium; we met over the years -- with friends and family, at public events, and lunched together in later years, hearing Duncan's stories of New York, grandchildren, old Regina, his sisters -- Duncan was, above all, devoted to his family. He will be (he is) missed. My deepest sympathy to Heidi, Duncan, and all the family. Peace, Anne

Dear Heidi, Bob, Carly, Max & extended family,
So many memories! So much humour! From all of Dunc’s Friends & admirers at the SK Sports Hall of Fame, I would like to pass on our sincere condolences during this time of loss. We will remember with great fondness how Dunc piped in many a Class of inductees before he was similarly honoured. It is our privilege to be able to tell Dunc’s story for years to come. He was a very special man & will be missed by many. We will all cherish our memories.

To all of the Fisher Family,
Sending my sincere condolences on the passing of Dunc. He was a wonderful person, and I loved that he was present at so many events because of his piping! Dad (Gord) is deeply saddened by the loss of his dear close friend, and linemate. They shared so much and had such fascinating lives for such young men from the prairies. Sending you all big hugs and love at this time.

Duncan and family,
I am sorry for your loss. It is clear, after reading your dad's obituary and the tributes to him here and in the Leader Post, that he was a remarkable man. He touched many lives over his 90 years and he and your mom raised some pretty great children and grandchildren. I hope your memories give you comfort.

We are so very sorry for your loss. My dad, Angus Spence, was a great friend of Dunc and I know he has already welcomed him into the heavenly pipe band, along with many other pipers and drummers that Dunc played with over the years. I spoke with Dunc on a few occasions when we were at College Park II visiting a family member. While he didn't always remember me, he certainly remembered my dad....
Our thoughts are with the family at this time....take care

Dear Heidi and Bob, our deepest sympathy for the passing of Heidi's father. He was lucky to have had a long life well lived, and his family was lucky to have him as active and engaged for as long as he was. Our condolences to all of you.

Duncan,
I have many fond memories of working with you at the Lawson Aquatic Centre. I thank you for your quiet mentoring, guidance and advice that you gave me, which helped me as a lifeguard and swim instructor, coach and throughout my professional life. Your constant calm, professional demeanor and ability to treat everyone as important and equals (except when a stronger had was required which was always metted out fairly and followed by sage advice) were traits that I tried to emulate.
Thank you
God Bless always,
All ways.
